Lion's Mane- The Mind Master

Today we're talking about Lion's Mane!

Lion's Mane Mushroom is one of the world's most powerful superfoods. It's main bioactive compounds are as follows:

-Erinacines
-Hericerins
-Sterols
-and polysaccharides

The main benefits of Lion's Mane are the potentially powerful neuroprotective and neuroregenerative effects.

For instance, a double blind, placebo controlled study on individuals with mild cognitive impairment found that those participants who were receiving lion's mane showed increase scores for cognitive function vs. those on the placebo. What's also interesting is they found after the intake of Lion's mane ended, their scores significantly decreased. The study gave participants approx. 3 g of dried lion's mane powder throughout the day and found no adverse affects.

Another placebo controlled, randomized study in women found that those who supplemented with Lion’s Mane daily had significantly lower depression scores as well lowered anxiousness and irritability. The results show that Lion's mane intake has the possibility to reduce depression and anxiety.

Lastly (for now), an exciting study found that the bioactive diterpenoids in Lion’s Mane stimulate nerve-growth factor synthesis. NGF is key to growing neural cells in the brain and nervous system. Studies are finding Lion's mane could potentially have benefit for those with dementia and neurodegenerative diseases.  It has even been found to increase and improve memory.

In light of Lion's Mane's incredible benefits on the body, it's a foundational cornerstone in our Supershroom Soda™ & the powerhouse ingredient of our Brain Boost formulation.
