Our Story

Ananda Elixirs was founded by Dylan and Samantha Dreiling, a husband-and-wife team, after their previous wellness business collapsed in early 2021 alongside the loss of Sammi's father.

Navigating new parenthood and a career crossroads, they asked themselves what they'd be doing if they were truly following their bliss.

The answer became Shroom Soda® — a functional soda elixir made with mushrooms and natural botanicals, designed to make a daily wellness ritual something you actually look forward to.

The company launched in Arizona, grew there for a year and a half, and in August 2024 the founders moved home to Ottawa, where the business is now based.

How we started

In early 2021, our thriving wellness business, built over a decade, collapsed with the faltering economy. Devastated by its sudden downfall and the unexpected loss of Sammi’s father, we found ourselves at a crossroads amidst new parenthood and career turmoil. Seeking clarity, we took solace in our favorite remedy: long drives and deep conversations. During one of these rides, we asked ourselves, "What would we be doing if we were truly following our bliss?"

How we found bliss

As we drove home, Dylan excitedly shared his fascination with functional mushrooms and proposed, “What if we could create a mushroom drink that tastes so good you’d actually look forward to it every day?” With Sammi’s aversion to unappealing powdered drinks in mind, this idea sparked our journey, lets revolutionize soda! Over the following months, Ananda Elixirs was born, culminating in the launch of our first product, Shroom Soda®, and marking the beginning of an exciting new adventure.

Our vision includes not only enhancing our current range but also pioneering new ways to integrate rituals that inspire and support life in the most fun way possible.

Proud Canadian Female Founder

Born and raised in Ottawa, Sammi always dreamed of building something meaningful. She met Dylan in their previous business and after marrying and starting a family, they moved to Arizona, where Ananda Elixirs was founded.

For 1.5 years, they grew the brand in the U.S., always holding onto a vision: bringing Ananda home to Canada. In August 2024, with the right manufacturing partners in place, they felt it was time to say goodbye to the desert and hello again to the great white north.

Based in Ottawa once again, the founders are close to family and Canadians are loving Ananda Elixirs!
